A 550MB bundle of data usage in 3G speed (30 days validity) costs just €5 ($6.35) and is easily activated by sending a text message. The fee is deducted from the balance of the SIM. If you need more than 550MB you can activate another 550MB/€5 bundle.

When 5MB of your allowance remains, you get a text that the bundle is almost consumed, so that you can activate another one - if you like.

Data SIM Card for Spain (No voice service)

The Data SIM card for Spain is pre-loaded with 1GB data in 3G speed and is ready to use. No activation text message (or topping up) is needed so it's perfect to use in your dongle/router/tablet/iPad/modem for 30 days from the start of usage.

How long does 1GB data last?

This is a tough question to answer because it depends on how you use it, but for most of our customers, 1GB data is more than enough.

Typically 1GB data lasts for:
4000 emails (no attachments), plus 500 emails with attachments, plus 3000 web pages, plus 200 photos to social media sites, plus 250 hours of Google Navigation usage.

For each €5 voucher you add to your call balance, you get 90 minutes of calls to travel companions also using a HolidayPhone SIM card. If you talk for more than the free minutes, the rate for exceeding time equals that of local calls as stated above. If you are traveling in a party, we recommend that you order HolidayPhone for all travelers, so that you can make cheap calls between each other on your trip. To achieve this, just dial the local Spanish mobile phone number provided with the Spain SIM card.

If the call balance runs out

Our Spain SIM cards is delivered pre-topped up with €5 ($6.35) call balance, which covers for up to 90 minutes of talk time to the US. If you need additional top up such as for internet bundles or local calls in Spain, you can buy top-up vouchers online through us or directly from the carrier online. You can also buy these in kiosks and supermarkets across Spain.

With the €5 vouchers you can buy from us, you also receive a €2.50 bonus, so that the total credit topped up is €7.50 for each. You also receive a bonus of 90 minutes of calls to travel companions and 50MB free internet access. If you add 3x€5 vouchers you receive a total of €22.50 (3*€7.50). The bonus top up credit can only be used for calls.

The Spain Pay As You Go SIM card is valid for 120 days after the most recent top up.

The Data SIM card for Spain does not need any call balance, as it's pre-loaded with the 1GB data service for 30 days of usage.

Calling US from Spain

When calling the USA using your HolidayPhone SIM card, just dial +1 followed by the US phone number. For example: 212-333-4444 becomes +12123334444.

Receive calls in Spain

You receive inbound calls dialed to your American mobile phone numberjust as usual as all calls are seamlessly forwarded from US to your Spanish SIM card without any international roaming charges.

A Spanish mobile phone number is included, that can be used when people within Spain or travel companions using HolidayPhone, want to call you. There is no cost for receiving unlimited calls dialed directly to your Spanish number.

What if the call forwarding time runs out?

The HolidayPhone package includes 1 hour of free diverted calls from the US, but you can easily add more forwarding time at a low cost when ordering your HolidayPhone package.

In case all your call forwarding time is consumed, the call forwarding feature will stop working, so you don't have to worry about us charging you any fees in arrears.

In comparision, it often costs $1-$5 per minute to receive calls roaming with a US carrier abroad, so by using HolidayPhone, you save $60-$300 for receiving 1 hour of calls on your American cellular phone number abroad.

The mobile phone carrier in Spain uses the Orange network which is one of the biggest network in Spain. Coverage includes all of Spain including for instance Mallorca, Ibiza, Tenerife and Canary Islands.

We take care of SIM Card registration for you

According to country specific regulations the operator requires that a photo copy of your passport is attached in order for them to activate your SIM card. An image upload URL is attached in your order confirmation e-mail.

Once received, we will pass it on to the operator. We will not use it for any other purpose. As soon as your SIM card is activated, the passport image is removed from our system.

We take care of, and process the SIM Card registration for you, so that the SIM card you receive from us is registered and ready to use when you arrive.
